ARBORGRAPHS BY GRAPHIC ARTIST & PHOTOGRAPHER - NOAH-G.
What is an Arborgraph? An Arborgraph is any image painted or drawn onto a tree.
CULTURALLY MODIFIED TREES
Arborglyphs (carvings on trees) and Arborgraphs (paintings on trees) are both considered examples of Culturally Modified Trees, or CMT's. Evidence of CMT's have been discovered throughout the world and were used by many ancient cultures. Also known as 'Message Trees', Arborgraphs were known to have been used for a variety of purposes, such as to establish a territorial boundary, mark sacred ceremonial sites or even drive away evil spirits.
How Are Arborgraphic Prints Made?
At the core of every hand-crafted Noah-G Arborgraph, you will find the timeless beauty of natural wood. Each specially selected wood blank is first shaped and sanded by hand. Next, liberal amounts of Soul, Funk, Reggae and Jazz are added at high amplification, until spontaneous dancing occurs and maximum awesomeness absorption is achieved. Using the printed graphic images that were previously trimmed and sized, a supernatural, non-toxic, water-based elixir is applied to both the image and the wood blank. With an amazing display of dexterity, the two are instantly married together, leaving the blank white paper backing facing outward. Each Noah-G Arborgraph is then left outside to dry in the ocean breeze, for at least 24 hours. When the drying process is complete, water is used to dampen the paper, so it can be carefully removed by hand, leaving the graphic image behind. As a final step, the official Noah-G Arborgraph Emblem is added, along with the Artist's handwritten title, date and signature, just before it is sealed with several successive coats of clear, water-based polyurethane finish, to protect and sustain the lasting beauty of your new Noah-G Arborgraph, for generations.
EVERY NOAH-G-ARBORGRAPH IS ONE-OF-A-KIND
Every Noah-G Arborgraph is created by the Artist and each successive print that is created is one-of-a-kind. Although a great deal of effort goes into making each print as consistent as possible, the natural variations in the wood itself, magnified by the handcrafted nature of Noah-G Arborgraphs,, makes it virtually impossible to create two Arborgraphic prints that are exactly alike, in every way.

NEW MULTI-PANEL INSTALLATIONS AND OTHER ARTISTIC WONDERS - IN DEVELOPMENT
Below, you can see that I am starting to create some new, multi-panel enlargements of my selected photos and designs. Each design is printed as separate images and married onto separate birch panels and then bound together with metal fasteners and combined into wall hanging installations. Please see the slideshow below and check back for updates.
Signature Ebony Stains
You will see that some select Noah-G Arborgraphs feature different applications of his signature ebony wood stain on the backs and sides. This luxurious stain dries to a rich, warm black that helps bring out the unique grain of the wood. Additionally, it also helps unify the artwork when displayed as a collection.
WHITE AMERICAN BIRCH / MADE IN U.S.A.
Much of my work, but not all, utilizes hand-selected, master-carpenter created cabinet wood with an American White Birch veneer finish. For different pieces, I may choose several thicknesses of wood, ranging from 1/4 of an inch to to 2 3/4 or more.
Some of my art is created using top quality wood box frames that I obtain from an impeccable manufacturer that produces the finest art frames available. Using only sustainably grown white birch, these frames, if maintained properly, can last for generations.
